Rejuran

Sabeen Munib, MD

Salmon DNA Therapy for Skin Repair—Naturally Regenerative.

Often called the “Salmon Sperm Facial,” Rejuran is a regenerative skin treatment formulated with polynucleotides (PDRN)—a DNA-based compound derived from salmon that closely mimics human DNA. At Spectrum Skin Clinic, Rejuran is used topically after microneedling to calm inflammation, rebuild damaged skin, and improve texture and tone—especially for acne scarring, rosacea, melasma, and sensitivity.

While injectable Rejuran is popular abroad, in the U.S. it is applied topically post-procedure under physician supervision.

Why Choose Rejuran at Spectrum Skin Clinic?

  • Restores skin barrier and reduces inflammation
  • Improves skin tone, texture, and acne scarring
  • Brightens melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • Reduces fine lines and crepey texture in the face, neck, and décolletage
  • Excellent for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin
  • No filler volume—pure repair and regeneration

What Is PDRN and How Does It Work?

PDRN (polynucleotide) is a DNA fragment extracted from salmon, with 95% molecular similarity to human DNA. This high degree of compatibility makes it effective for activating tissue repair, stimulating fibroblasts, and enhancing collagen production. When applied post-microneedling, PDRN penetrates microchannels to support healing, calm inflammation, and boost the skin’s regenerative process.

Understanding Rejuran Formulations

Rejuran Essence

A concentrated serum rich in PDRN, designed for use after more intensive procedures like fractional lasers or deeper microneedling. It delivers advanced anti-inflammatory and regenerative benefits.

Rejuran Skin Booster

A lighter version used for milder procedures or first-time users. Supports hydration, tone, and texture without irritation.

Rejuran Healer (International Injectable)

Contains 2% PDRN and is widely used as a mesotherapy injectable outside the U.S. for under-eye rejuvenation, skin laxity, fine lines, and overall dermal regeneration. It is FDA-approved for injection in South Korea and other countries, but not in the U.S.

What Concerns Can Rejuran Treat (Topically)?

  • Acne scarring and texture irregularities
  • Rosacea and facial redness
  • Melasma and uneven pigmentation
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • Fine lines and thinning in the neck and décolletage
  • Barrier sensitivity or compromised skin

Global Use & Off-Label Insights

Internationally, Rejuran is used as an injectable skin booster to treat skin laxity, wrinkles, and even under-eye aging (Rejuran i). In the U.S., Rejuran may only be applied topically after procedures such as microneedling, RF microneedling, or fractional laser—under a physician’s care.

What Can I Expect During the Procedure?

After microneedling or laser resurfacing, Rejuran is applied directly to the treated area (face, neck, or chest). The product penetrates through open microchannels to promote healing. Sessions last 30–60 minutes, depending on areas treated.

ø Mild redness or pinpoint bleeding is due to the procedure, not Rejuran

ø Temporary tingling, warmth, or tightness for 24–48 hours

When Will I See Results and How Long Do They Last?

ø Texture, tone, and sensitivity improve gradually over 1–3 weeks

ø Optimal results seen with a series of 3–4 sessions

ø Maintenance recommended every 3–6 months
