All about Lip Filler
Refine, Define, or Restore—Not Overfill.
At Spectrum Skin Clinic, lip filler is more than a trend—it’s a precision-based treatment that balances proportion, restores lost structure, or subtly enhances shape. Whether you’ve lost volume with age, have natural asymmetry, or are seeking better lip-to-face harmony, every lip filler treatment at our clinic is designed with restraint and medical intention. No duck lips. No one-size-fits-all.
All injections are performed by Dr. Sabeen Munib, MD—a physician with deep anatomical knowledge and a conservative approach to enhancement. We prioritize shape over size, integration over puffiness, and longevity over trend-driven volume.

What Is Lip Filler?
Lip filler is a gel-based injectable treatment—typically made from hyaluronic acid (HA)—used to enhance the shape, volume, and structure of the lips. HA is naturally found in the skin and adds moisture and plumpness. When injected properly, it offers soft, natural-looking definition without stiffness or distortion.
Lip filler can address:
- Volume loss from aging or weight loss
- Asymmetry (e.g., uneven upper/lower lips or side imbalance)
- Lack of definition in the vermillion border or Cupid’s bow
- Hydration (without significant volume change)
- Proportion correction between lips and other facial features

Our Approach to Lip Filler
No two lips are the same. That’s why we never inject based on volume goals alone. Instead, our process starts with:
- Lip assessment: analyzing white-to-red lip ratio, dental show, facial shape, and philtrum length
- Filler selection: choosing the product based on softness, cohesivity, and patient goals (structure vs hydration)
- Technique: Dr. Munib uses microdroplet or layered techniques to avoid distortion and allow natural movement
If you’re dissolving prior filler or correcting migration, we offer ultrasound-guided filler dissolve prior to re-injection.

Recovery and Downtime
Recovery and Downtime
- Swelling is common for 24–72 hours
- Bruising may occur, especially in patients prone to it
- Results settle by day 5–7
- Full integration by 2 weeks
We do not recommend travel or high-impact activity for the first 48 hours after lip filler. Icing can help reduce swelling but should be applied gently.

How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?
Results typically last 6–12 months, depending on:
- The product used
- Your metabolism
- Frequency of muscle movement (e.g., frequent talking or puckering)
Maintenance is usually recommended once or twice per year. Patients with prior filler may need less product to maintain results.

What If I’ve Had Filler Before?
If you’ve had filler that migrated, feels firm, or distorted your natural shape, we recommend evaluation before adding more. We offer ultrasound-guided lip filler dissolve using HiLunix (Hyaluronidase). This allows targeted removal before reinjection—safer, more precise, and tailored to avoid overcorrection.
