The upper lip was noticeably thinner than the lower lip, which made the mouth look narrow and the lower lip heavy at rest.
On assessment, the upper lip showed limited body with a thin vermilion, and the upper-to-lower ratio read bottom-heavy. The cupid's bow was intact and the lower lip had good natural volume. The pattern reflected natural anatomy rather than age-related loss, so the plan was to bring the upper lip toward the lower lip's proportion rather than enlarge both.
Hyaluronic acid Lip Filler was placed mainly in the upper lip, with attention to the border and the center so the shape stayed true to her own.
In the after image, the upper lip has more body, the border is crisp and the two lips read in better proportion without looking added to. Correcting the ratio usually does more for a natural result than adding volume everywhere.
