Overview
What AnteAGE PEARL microneedling is
AnteAGE PEARL microneedling is collagen-induction therapy that also delivers a topical. Fine sterile needles open controlled micro-channels, and the body reads them as small wounds, laying down fresh collagen and elastin over the next several weeks. The channels also let the PEARL formula reach below the surface.
Spectrum Skin Clinic performs it in Irvine, and Dr. Sabeen Munib, MD does the needling herself, because metal-needle microneedling is a physician procedure in California. PEARL can be used on its own, alongside radiofrequency microneedling, or after a laser. It is sometimes called a PDRN facial, or gold stamp or gold-tip microneedling. Any of these can finish with AnteAGE exosomes, applied to the freshly treated skin to help it recover.
PEARL microneedling is one option, not the whole answer. Depending on your skin, another treatment or a pairing may do more, so your plan is set in person rather than picked from a menu.

The Spectrum approach
Why patients choose Spectrum for AnteAGE PEARL microneedling
AnteAGE PEARL is a medical-grade treatment, so Dr. Sabeen Munib performs it herself. Microneedling with metal needles is a physician procedure in California, not an esthetician service.
Before any treatment she reviews your skin type, pigment history and what you are trying to improve, because the same channels that let the PEARL formula in also set the depth of the work.
PEARL brings PDRN, exosomes or biosomes, growth factors, antioxidants and amino acids into one topical, applied to freshly needled skin so the two steps happen in the same visit.

Before & After
Microneedling Before and After
Documented microneedling results at Spectrum Skin Clinic are shown in the acne-scar and TCA cross galleries and in the PRFM subcision acne-scar series. Outcomes vary with skin type, scar depth, and the number of sessions completed, and the photographs are examples rather than a promise of any one result.
How AnteAGE PEARL microneedling works
The needles open temporary micro-channels in the skin. The body treats them as small wounds and answers with a controlled wound-healing response, and those same channels let the PEARL topical reach below the surface.
That healing response recruits growth factors and drives fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen and elastin. Over several weeks the new tissue can even out texture and improve skin quality.
Where the PEARL formula comes in
PEARL is AnteAGE's blend of five parts: PDRN, a salmon-DNA derivative; exosomes or biosomes; antioxidants; recombinant growth factors; and amino acids. AnteAGE describes PDRN as supporting elasticity and hydration, and the amino acids as supporting a stronger skin barrier and faster recovery.
The channels microneedling opens are what carry the formula in. AnteAGE makes PEARL for use alongside microneedling, including radiofrequency microneedling, and it can also be applied after a laser. Expect some redness and swelling afterward, and in some skin types, temporary darkening.
How PEARL fits with related treatments
AnteAGE PEARL microneedling, PDRN injections, and skin exosomes: what is different
PDRN and exosomes show up in several treatments we offer. Here is how PEARL microneedling sits next to the others, so you can tell which one you are looking for.
Combined approaches
What AnteAGE PEARL microneedling is paired with, and why
Who it suits
Microneedling is most often weighed for uneven texture, early fine lines, and overall skin quality. Pairing it with the PEARL topical adds PDRN, which AnteAGE describes as supporting elasticity and hydration.
Because it relies on fine needles rather than heat or light, it is used across a range of skin tones. If it is paired with radiofrequency microneedling or a laser, Dr. Munib reviews your skin type and pigment history first, because added heat can darken some skin temporarily.
How the decision is made
Candidacy is settled at an in-person assessment, where pigment risk, skin type and prior treatments are reviewed before the depth and plan are chosen. PEARL microneedling is one option weighed against others, not the default.
When it fits
Uneven texture, early fine lines, and skin that can still remodel are the usual starting points. The needling adds no heat on its own, so many skin tones tolerate it, and the PEARL topical goes in as the skin is treated.
When it does not
Active breakouts, a skin infection, a history of keloid scarring, recent isotretinoin, pregnancy, and some bleeding or immune conditions can make it unsuitable or push it later. Some concerns are better served by a different treatment altogether, which is weighed at your assessment.
What to expect
Recovery and results, step by step
A course is usually three sessions, four to six weeks apart, so each round builds on the collagen laid down by the last. Individual recovery varies.
What the downside is
Documented risks
Microneedling breaks the skin barrier, and the aftermath that follows is largely predictable.
Redness and swelling
Redness and light swelling are normal for one to three days. If PEARL is paired with radiofrequency microneedling, this usually settles within one to two.
Discomfort during the pass
Numbing cream goes on first, and more is available during treatment. Most patients describe the sensation as mild to moderate.
Darkening of the skin
Some patients, particularly in richer skin tones, can see temporary darkening where the skin was treated, more so when heat is added. Skin type and pigment history are reviewed before depth is set.
Every plan is reviewed as informed consent: the likely course, the risks above, and the alternatives, named before anything begins.
How safe is it?
Serious problems such as infection or new scarring are uncommon when microneedling is done in a medical setting. That is general experience with the treatment, not a guarantee for any one visit.
Sterile single-use needles, a trained hand, and a medical setting are what keep the common effects common and the rare ones rare.

What affects your cost
What AnteAGE PEARL microneedling costs in Irvine
AnteAGE PEARL microneedling starts at $500 a session. A series of three starts at $1,300.
The number of sessions and whether PEARL is paired with radiofrequency microneedling or a laser move the total. A series is planned rather than billed as a single visit.
Pricing for an individual plan is confirmed at consultation.
New patients: 15% off your first treatment.
What results look like
Will the change look natural?
Yes, within limits. Microneedling does not resurface or fill. It nudges the skin to build its own collagen while the PEARL topical is delivered, so the change arrives gradually and reads as better skin quality rather than a treated look.
Early surface improvement often shows within two to four weeks. Because collagen keeps forming, texture can keep improving for several months after a series, which is also why a single session rarely tells the whole story.
Microneedling improves skin; it does not erase every concern. Smoother texture and more even tone is the realistic goal, and Dr. Munib will tell you at your assessment what else could help.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
It is microneedling that delivers the AnteAGE PEARL topical into the skin. Fine needles open temporary channels, and the PEARL formula, PDRN with exosomes or biosomes, growth factors, antioxidants and amino acids, is applied with it. Dr. Sabeen Munib, MD performs it, starting at $500 a session.
PEARL is AnteAGE's name for five parts used together: PDRN, exosomes or biosomes, antioxidants, recombinant growth factors, and amino acids.
PDRN is a salmon-DNA derivative. AnteAGE describes it as supporting skin elasticity and hydration. In the PEARL blend it is the P in the name.
Most plans are a series of three, usually spaced four to six weeks apart so each round builds on the last. The exact number depends on your skin and is decided at your consultation.
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment and numbing is available throughout. Most patients describe the sensation as mild to moderate.
Dr. Sabeen Munib, MD performs it. In California, microneedling with metal needles is a physician procedure and is outside an esthetician's scope, so it is not delegated.
It starts at $500 a session, or $1,300 for a series of three. Your plan is confirmed at your consultation.
No to both. This delivers PDRN and the rest of the PEARL blend topically through microneedling. PDRN given as an injection is a separate treatment, covered on our Rejuran page, and a skin exosome treatment focuses on exosomes on their own, covered on our Skin Exosomes page.
