Pico Laser

Sabeen Munib M.D.

Details of the Treatment:
Sun-related dark spots across the cheeks and temples had grown more visible over the years. Foundation no longer covered the deeper marks, and she'd been hesitant about IPL after seeing mixed results elsewhere.
Cheek and temple assessment showed scattered solar lentigines with confluent zones over the malar prominences and lateral temples. The lesions were uniformly tan to brown with sharp borders, characteristic of cumulative sun damage rather than melasma or post-inflammatory pigment. The skin was Fitzpatrick type II to III. The pattern reflected decades of facial sun exposure. The plan was Pico laser at the 532 nm wavelength for surface pigment.
Pico laser was performed at 532 nm targeting the lentigines with feathered density across the cheeks. The 532 nm wavelength addresses surface pigment specifically without deeper dermal effect. Recovery involves three to five days of darkened spots that flake off as the pigment is cleared. In the after image, results of this kind are typically observed over several weeks as the skin clears. The lentigines have substantially cleared, the cheek tone reads as more uniform, and the surrounding skin texture is unchanged. Pico laser pigment removal is a precision tool, not a resurfacing procedure. The right wavelength matched to the right pigment depth produces clearance without disturbing surrounding tissue.
Individual results vary. The outcome shown reflects this patient's specific anatomy, health history, and treatment plan. Results shown are not guaranteed and are not necessarily typical. Photos used with patient consent.
