Targets Skin, Not Fat
Focused ultrasound heats the deeper skin layers of the upper arm to stimulate collagen — it tightens lax skin rather than removing volume.
No Incisions, No Downtime
HIFU is delivered through the skin surface with no cutting and no scar. Most patients return to normal activity the same day.
Gradual Collagen Build
Firming develops over about two to three months as collagen and elastin remodel; the extent depends on the patient's starting skin elasticity.
Details of the Treatment
She was bothered by loose, slightly crepey skin along the back of the upper arm — the kind of laxity that shows when the arm is extended and that exercise alone does not tighten. She wanted a firmer arm contour without surgery or a scar.
Assessment focused on skin quality rather than fat. The upper arm showed mild-to-moderate skin laxity with reasonable underlying tone, which is the pattern that tends to respond to energy-based tightening. Where the dominant problem is volume or a true skin excess, the honest answer is that a non-surgical device will do less — that distinction is made before anything is booked.
HIFU was used to deliver focused ultrasound energy to set depths in the arm skin, creating controlled thermal coagulation points that prompt collagen and elastin to remodel. There are no incisions and essentially no downtime. In the after image the upper-arm contour looks smoother and the skin sits tighter against the underlying tissue.
Tightening of this kind develops gradually over roughly two to three months as new collagen forms, and the degree of change depends on starting elasticity, age, and how much laxity is present. For patients whose concern is localized fullness rather than skin tone, non-surgical arm sculpting may be the more appropriate path, and the two are sometimes considered together.
