Lip Filler – Balanced Volume & Natural Definition

She had wanted lip filler for years but had been holding off, watching results she thought looked fake. Naturally thin lips had continued to thin — a harder-to-define border, an upper lip that disappeared in photographs.

On assessment, the lip border was soft and indistinct in places, with the upper lip reduced in height relative to the lower lip. The cupid's bow was present but undefined. The lower-lip body had lost its rounded fullness in profile. There were mild lines around the mouth at rest. The pattern reflected natural age-related volume loss in the lip body layered on a baseline of naturally thin lips. A border-first approach suited this presentation because the missing edge was the dominant change.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in two passes. Cannula technique distributes product smoothly through the lip and avoids the bruising that comes with needle injection — patients return to work the same day. The lip border was addressed first to re-establish the structural edge. Small amounts in the body of both lips then restored the rounded fullness. In the after image, the lip border reads as a defined line and the cupid's bow is visible at rest. Lower-lip projection has returned without crossing into the over-filled appearance. Restoration over augmentation is the framework: the lip was rebuilt to the proportions it once had, not pushed past them.
