She wasn't looking to make her lips bigger. The framing was restoration — recovering the volume she had lost over the past few years, with cannula as her preferred technique.

On assessment, both lips were naturally thin with additional volume loss layered on top. The lip border was soft. The cupid's bow was flat. The lip-to-face proportions were within range, but the patient described the lips as thinner than her photographs from a couple of years prior. The pattern combined natural thinness with acquired loss. A restoration approach suited this presentation because the patient's own past anatomy was the reference, not a current aesthetic ideal.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in two passes, with reference to the patient's own photographs from a couple of years prior as the volume target. The lip border was addressed first. Conservative body volume was added in even distribution. Restoration cases use the patient's own past anatomy as the reference rather than industry standards or current trends. In the after image, the lip volume has restored to approximately her prior baseline, the cupid's bow is more visible, and the lip border reads as defined.
