Lip Filler – Natural Volume & Shape Enhancement (Front & Oblique View)

Multi-view planning was the deciding factor — another provider had only shown her front-facing photos, and she couldn't picture how it would look in profile. She'd been wary of the volume she'd been quoted there.

On assessment, the lips were thin from the front with reduced body volume and a soft lip border. The angled view showed reduced lip projection without the over-projected look that comes from prior repeated injection. The cupid's bow was preserved. From the side, the lip projection was modestly reduced relative to the surrounding face but proportionate. A multi-view approach suited this presentation because adding volume that looks right from the front but wrong from the side is one of the most common errors in lip filler.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in two passes. Multi-view planning produces a different result from the same volume. Projection was added to the front and angled zones where the patient most often sees herself. The side of the lip body was treated more conservatively to avoid over-projection from the side. In the after image, the volume increase is visible from the front and proportionate from the angled view. The lip border is defined and the cupid's bow is more visible. A lip that looks correct from every angle is the goal, not just the angle the patient happens to see most.
