Lip Filler – Natural Volume Enhancement & Shape Refinement

She had been resistant to lip filler for years on the basis of the obvious results she had seen elsewhere. The cannula-only conservative approach was what brought her in — pillow-face was her primary objection.

On assessment, both lips showed reduced body volume with a soft lip border. The lip-to-face proportions were within range. The cupid's bow was preserved but soft. There was mild surface unevenness in the upper lip, the kind of early age-related change that often shows up with thinning. The pattern was natural lip thinness layered with early surface change. A conservative approach suited this presentation because the goal was a fuller version of the patient's own anatomy, not a different lip.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in two passes. The lip border was addressed first to re-establish the structural edge. Small shallow amounts in the upper lip added volume and improved the surface unevenness in the same step. Cannula technique distributes product evenly through the lip, which produces the natural-looking result that needle injection cannot reliably achieve. In the after image, the lip border reads as a defined line, the body volume has modestly increased, and the upper lip surface is smoother. The lips look like a fuller version of the patient's own anatomy. Restoration of what is genetically there is the framework, not augmentation past it.
