Lip Filler – Side-View Profile Enhancement & Natural Projection

Multi-view planning was the deciding factor. She had narrowed her provider choice based on which clinic explicitly addressed profile during consultation rather than treating it as an afterthought.

On side-profile assessment, both lips showed reduced projection, with the lips sitting close to the surrounding face. The lip border on profile was soft. Front-view assessment showed acceptable lip-to-face proportions but reduced body volume in both upper and lower lip. The cupid's bow was flat. A profile-priority approach suited this presentation because the side view was the patient's actual concern.

A soft filler was placed by cannula with side-profile-focused placement. The lip border was addressed first. Body volume was placed in the front portion of both lips rather than spread out evenly. Profile-focused placement is a different volume distribution from front-focused placement at the same total amount. In the after image, the side-view lip projection has increased, the upper-lower ratio reads proportionate from the side, and the front view shows modest volume increase. Side-view-driven placement is the right match when profile is the complaint.
