Lip Filler – Enhanced Projection & Improved Vermilion Show (Side View)

She wanted more of the upper lip visible in profile — not larger lips, just more lip showing from the side. Bigger was explicitly not the goal.

On side-profile assessment, the upper lip was thin with minimal lip show at rest. The lower lip projection was within range, producing the upper-lower mismatch on profile the patient had named. The lip border on the upper lip was soft. The cupid's bow was preserved but flattened. A projection-focused approach suited this presentation because the issue was specific to how the upper lip showed in profile.

A soft filler was placed by cannula at the front of the upper lip, with the lip border addressed first to give the projection a defined edge. The lower lip and the side of the lip body were left alone — adding volume there would have made the lip larger overall without addressing the patient's specific complaint about projection. In the after image, the upper lip show in side profile has visibly increased, the upper-lower mismatch has resolved, and the front view shows minimal change in lip volume. Treating the patient's actual complaint rather than the standard menu is the right match for case-specific concerns.
