Lip Filler – Front & Side View

She had seen too many before-and-after photos that showed only one view, and she couldn't picture what her own lips would look like in profile after filler. Multi-view planning was the deciding factor.

Multi-view assessment showed reduced lip body volume from the front, with the vermilion border attenuated and the cupid's bow flattened. From the side, lip projection was modestly reduced relative to the surrounding facial topography. The upper-lower lip ratio was within normal range from both views. There was no asymmetry. The plan was bilateral conservative enhancement calibrated to produce a proportionate result in both views — front body volume and side projection addressed together rather than as separate goals.

A soft hyaluronic acid filler was placed by cannula in placement strategies calibrated to both views. The vermilion border was addressed first, then body volume was placed in distribution that produced both front-volume increase and lateral projection increase. Multi-view-planned placement is a different volume distribution than single-view placement — same total product, different result. In the after image, the front view shows defined lip border and proportionate volume increase, and the side view shows improved lip projection without over-projection. Multi-view assessment in lip filler is non-negotiable — the lip exists in three dimensions and the planning has to match.
