Details of the Treatment:

She wanted to know what one well-placed visit could do — and only that. The people she knew who had filler always seemed to need follow-ups, and she wanted to skip that cycle.

On assessment, the lips were thin with the upper lip noticeably smaller than the lower lip and a soft lip border. The lower lip held more of its natural volume. The mismatch between upper and lower was the dominant feature, and bringing them into balance was the visual goal of the visit. The cupid's bow was present but soft. A single-visit approach weighted toward the upper lip suited this presentation because the imbalance was the actual problem.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in two passes, weighted to the upper lip body and the lip border. Cannula technique distributes product more evenly than needle injection. The lower drift rate is part of why follow-up cycles tend to be less frequent than with needle injection. In the after image, the upper lip body has visibly increased in volume, the upper-to-lower lip ratio reads in balance, and the lip border is a defined line. The result is full rather than subtle — the patient's anatomy needed real correction at the upper lip to bring the proportions into balance, and that is what the photo shows.

Individual results vary. The outcome shown reflects this patient's specific anatomy, health history, and treatment plan. Results shown are not guaranteed and are not necessarily typical. Photos used with patient consent.

Upper-Lower Lip Balance

Upper-Lower Lip Balance

The upper lip was notably smaller than the lower at baseline. Concentration of filler at the upper lip body brought the ratio back into balance.

Border Re-Established

Border Re-Established

The vermilion border reads as a defined line in the after image, with the cupid's bow visible at rest.

One-Session Result

One-Session Result

Single-session cannula placement with conservative volume — the planned scope was a single intervention, not a maintenance ramp.
