No bruising, no swelling that lasted more than a day, no visible recovery in front of her colleagues — that was the non-negotiable. A public-facing role and a lip filler request.
On assessment, both lips were naturally thin with reduced lip body volume and a soft lip border. The cupid's bow was preserved but flat. The lip-to-face proportions were within range. The pattern was natural lip thinness. A conservative cannula approach suited this presentation because the technique gives an even result with much less post-injection swelling than needle technique.
A soft filler was placed by cannula through one entry point per lip, in conservative amounts. Cannula technique distributes product without the multiple needle sites that drive post-injection swelling. Initial swelling resolved within a day, and there was no bruising. The patient returned to her schedule the same day. In the after image, the lip border is defined, body volume has increased modestly, and the upper-lower ratio is preserved. Subtle results with minimal downtime are achievable when the technique is right and the amount is conservative. Volume is not the only variable — placement and technique drive the visible-recovery profile as much as the result itself.
