Natural Lip Filler Results – Subtle Volume & Shape Refinement

She wanted the smallest visible result possible. Naturally thin lips, several years of considering filler, and a strong aversion to results she'd seen that looked obviously filled.

On assessment, both lips were naturally thin with a soft lip border. The lip-to-face proportions were within range. The cupid's bow was preserved but flat. The side contours of the lips were even. The pattern was natural lip thinness rather than acquired change. A conservative approach suited this presentation because the goal was the smallest visible result rather than maximum change.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in conservative amounts, with the lip border addressed first and a small amount of body volume added to upper and lower lip. Total product was on the lower end of standard for thin-lip cases. Subtle results require restraint at the moment of injection — the temptation to add a little more is exactly what produces the obvious results the patient was avoiding. In the after image, the lip border reads as defined and the body volume has increased modestly. The change is visible to the patient and not visible at social distance. Less filler placed correctly outperforms more filler placed for visible effect.
