Side-View Lip Filler Results – Natural Projection & Profile Balance

From the front she could work with what she had; from the side, the lips read flat. She had been waiting for a provider who would treat profile as a real goal rather than treat front-view as the whole result.

On side-profile assessment, both lips showed reduced projection, with the upper and lower lips sitting in a relatively flat plane. The lip border on profile was indistinct. The cupid's bow was present but contributing little to the side-view shape. A projection-focused approach suited this presentation because the patient's actual concern was about how her lips read from the side, not the front.

A soft filler was placed by cannula with the placement matched to a profile improvement. Volume was placed specifically in the front portion of both lips. The lip border was addressed to define the side-view edge. Profile-focused placement is a different volume distribution from front-focused placement, even when the total product is similar. In the after image, the lip projection in profile has modestly increased, the side-view contour reads as defined rather than flat, and the front view is unchanged in proportion. Multi-view planning produces multi-view results.
