Thin Lip Correction with Lip Filler – Natural Front View Enhancement

Subtle was the dealbreaker — she had watched friends get filler that looked obvious and decided long ago she didn't want that. The request was simple: be able to apply lipstick without it disappearing into her teeth.

On assessment, both lips were naturally thin at rest, with reduced volume in the upper and lower lip and a soft lip border. The lip-to-face proportion was within range — her complaint was about lip volume itself rather than facial balance. The cupid's bow was present but soft. A conservative approach suited this presentation because the goal was a result that read as her own lips, only fuller — not lips that drew attention.

A soft filler was placed by cannula in conservative amounts — well below standard for thin-lip cases, matched specifically to her constraint. The lip border was addressed first, then a small amount of body volume was added. Conservative volume cases require restraint at the moment of injection — the temptation to add a little more is exactly what produces the obvious results she had been avoiding. In the after image, the lip border reads as a defined line, the lip body has modestly increased, and lipstick now sits visibly on the lip rather than disappearing. Subtle is harder than obvious. What the patient's face can carry determines what is added, not what looks like a visible result.
