She wanted both pigment clearance and tightening in a single visit, with no surface-removing downtime. The two issues sit at different levels of the skin and call for different approaches.
On assessment, the cheeks and forehead showed uneven pigment from years of sun exposure, the surface read dull, and there was early softening at the lower face. The skin read tired rather than aged — a presentation driven by sun damage and surface texture change rather than deep volume loss. There was no active redness, recent sun exposure, or active breakouts. A same-visit, multi-tool approach suited this presentation because the two concerns came from different levels of the skin.
Nordlys IPL was delivered first, with the right setting for the pigment in the affected areas. Sublative work followed across the full face to drive the deeper response. Order matters — IPL is delivered before the surface treatment so that the surface pigment is addressed first without interference. Improvements continue gradually over several months as the skin renews. In the after image, sun-induced pigment has substantially cleared, surface texture has refined, and the lower face shows visible tightening from the deeper response. Two approaches at two levels in one visit is more efficient than splitting it across separate visits.
