What changed

Slimmer Jawline Appearance

Reduction in masseter muscle bulk creates a narrower, more contoured lower face.

Softer Facial Contours

Jawline angles appear less squared, creating a more balanced and refined facial shape.

Reduced Jaw Tension

Relaxation of the masseter muscles can ease clenching and tension for improved comfort.

Details of the Treatment

She didn't grind her teeth, and other clinics had told her that without grinding, masseter Botox wasn't warranted. Her face had always been wider at the jaw than at the cheekbones — a purely aesthetic concern that mattered to her.

On clench, the jaw muscles were visibly bulky on both sides at the angle of the jaw, producing the wider lower-face shape relative to the cheekbones. The muscles were not tender and the patient had no jaw symptoms. The pattern was natural jaw-muscle prominence without grinding. Masseter Botox suited this presentation because the cosmetic concern is reason enough — it does not need to be paired with a medical complaint to be valid.

Botox was placed in the masseter muscle on both sides at a dose chosen for cosmetic narrowing. The lower dose preserves enough chewing function to be unnoticeable while still producing visible slimming. Cosmetic-only cases are a longer-term commitment than treatment for grinding — repeated visits keep the muscle reduced. In the after image, the lower-face contour has narrowed, the jaw width has reduced, and the facial proportions read more balanced. A cosmetic concern is its own valid reason, not a secondary justification.
