Treatment:
Q-Switch ND:YAG Laser for Sun Spots

Practitioner:
Sabeen Munib M.D.

Details of the Treatment:
Discrete sun spots across her face and hands were the focused concern — a spot pattern, not diffuse pigmentation. Targeted clearance lesion-by-lesion was the right approach.
Pigment showed a discrete spot pattern rather than a diffuse melasma distribution. Lesion size and depth varied across the face. Background tone was acceptable. The pattern was consistent with cumulative sun exposure. The plan was Q-Switch ND:YAG energy delivered to the discrete lesions in short pulses, with strict sun protection during the post-treatment period.
Laser energy was delivered to each lesion at the threshold needed for fragmentation without surrounding tissue damage. Lesions darkened initially, then exfoliated over the following weeks. In the after image, the discrete sun spots have cleared, the surrounding skin reads cleaner, and the overall tone is more even. Pigment-selective laser energy works at the right threshold. Higher is not better.
Individual results vary. The outcome shown reflects this patient's specific anatomy, health history, and treatment plan. Results shown are not guaranteed and are not necessarily typical. Photos used with patient consent.

Cleared Discrete Spots
Sun spots across the treated zones have visibly cleared.
More Even Tone
The surrounding skin reads cleaner once the discrete pigment is removed.
Threshold Over Power
