Patient's Area of Concern:
Melasma, Hyperpigmentation, Sun Damage

Patient's Age:
50's

Treatment:
Chemical Peel for Pigment Correction

Practitioner:
Sabeen Munib M.D.

Details of the Treatment:
Mixed pigmentation across the face — hormonal melasma layered with sun damage. Two pigment populations meant a single approach wasn't going to solve it.
Pigment distribution was patchy across the upper cheeks, upper lip, and forehead. The pattern showed both central facial melasma features and discrete sun spots in non-melasma zones. Background skin tone was uneven. The plan targeted both pigment populations with a graded peel approach, paired with a pigment-suppression and SPF regimen to prevent rebound.
A medium-depth chemical peel approach was performed, with peel concentrations titrated to skin response. In the after image, the central melasma reads lighter, the discrete sun spots have faded, and the overall tone is more uniform. Melasma and sun-induced pigment respond to similar tools but at different rates. The protocol that respects both is the protocol that holds.
Individual results vary. The outcome shown reflects this patient's specific anatomy, health history, and treatment plan. Results shown are not guaranteed and are not necessarily typical. Photos used with patient consent.
