Mild swelling or tenderness over the first 24 to 72 hours is common, and the area settles over roughly two weeks. As the filler clears, the chin returns toward its natural baseline — which means a chin that was originally recessed will look recessed again.

Many patients dissolve in order to reset before rebuilding chin shape correctly. If that is the goal, a waiting period lets the tissue recover first. In selected patients a more conservative, better-planned re-treatment may be appropriate — that decision depends on goals, anatomy, and prior filler history.

Hyaluronidase only dissolves HA filler. If a permanent or semi-permanent filler, or a biostimulator such as Radiesse, was used in the chin, hyaluronidase will not dissolve it and management depends on the product.
