Puffiness Gone
The raised fullness under both eyes is gone.
Honest About Skin
Dissolving removes filler; it does not change the skin itself.
Physician-Performed
Performed by Sabeen Munib, MD in Irvine.
Details of the Treatment
This patient had filler under her eyes and chose to have it dissolved. The before photo shows the filler in place; the after photo shows the area once it was dissolved with under-eye filler dissolve.
Before: a raised, puffy fullness sits under both eyes.
After: the under-eye area looks flatter and the puffy fullness is gone. Fine lines on the lower lids are more visible, because dissolving removes the filler; it does not change the skin itself. The two photos were taken in different light, so judge the shape under the eyes rather than skin color.
How the filler is dissolved: Sabeen Munib, MD uses hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, the material in hyaluronic acid filler. Using it to dissolve filler is an off-label use.
Recovery and risks: After hyaluronidase, the most common reactions are mild redness, swelling, itching or pain where it was injected. Allergic reactions are rare, and a past reaction to hyaluronidase is reviewed before treatment.
Is dissolving right for you: It depends on what filler is under the skin now and how thin the skin is. Sabeen Munib, MD performs every dissolve herself and starts with an assessment, so the plan fits your eyes rather than this patient's.
Individual results vary. The outcome shown reflects this patient's specific anatomy, health history, and treatment plan. Results shown are not guaranteed and are not necessarily typical. Photos used with patient consent.
