Details of the Treatment
This patient chose under-eye filler dissolve to remove filler under the eyes placed earlier. The before photo shows the filler in place; the after photo shows the area once it was dissolved.
Before: the area under the eye shows a rounded, puffy bulge with a bluish tint along the lower lid.
After: in the after photo, the under-eye looks flatter, with less bulging below the lower lid. The bluish tint is lighter, and fine skin lines are easier to see. The two photos were taken in different light, so judge the shape rather than the color.
How the filler is dissolved: Sabeen Munib, MD uses hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, the material in hyaluronic acid filler. Using it to dissolve filler is an off-label use.
Recovery and risks: After hyaluronidase, the most common reactions are mild redness, swelling, itching or pain where it was injected. Allergic reactions are rare, and a past reaction to hyaluronidase is reviewed before treatment.
Is dissolving right for you: It depends on what filler is under the skin now and the shape you want to return to. Sabeen Munib, MD performs every dissolve herself and starts with an assessment, so the plan fits your eyes rather than this patient's.
Individual results vary. The outcome shown reflects this patient's specific anatomy, health history, and treatment plan. Results shown are not guaranteed and are not necessarily typical. Photos used with patient consent.
