Lip Filler Dissolve – Front View (Migration Correction)

Filler had drifted up onto the skin above her upper lip border. In the mirror, the upper lip read larger than her actual lip.

On assessment, drifted product above the upper lip border was visible at rest and more obvious in animation. The line between the wet and dry parts of the lip had blurred. The skin above the upper lip read as widened. The distribution was spread out rather than focal — the kind of pattern that comes from repeated injection in a small area. Dissolving above the lip border first suited this presentation because the filler inside the lip itself was not the source of the problem.

Hyaluronidase was placed in small, paced amounts above the upper lip border using a cannula. Pacing in lip cases prevents over-correction and lets the lip return to baseline gradually rather than collapsing in one pass. In the after image, the skin above the lip border has returned to its original anatomy. The line between the lip and the face is once again a defined edge, and the area above the lip has narrowed back to its natural width. The face returns to baseline before any new product is considered.
