Lip Filler Dissolve – Side View (Migration Removal)

From the front her lips looked acceptable. From the side they didn't — the upper lip projected past the lower, and her previous provider's solution was still 'add more.' She had stopped going there.

On side-profile assessment, the upper lip projected too far forward, with product visibly above the lip border in the skin above the upper lip. The lower lip had held its natural projection, which made the upper-lower mismatch worse on profile view. The product spread above the border was diffuse — the typical pattern of repeat injection without anything cleared in between. A targeted dissolve approach suited this presentation because the in-lip filler was contributing to acceptable volume and only the drifted product needed treatment.

Hyaluronidase was placed by cannula above the upper lip border where the drifted product was most visible. The lower lip was left alone. In the after image, the upper lip profile has settled back, the upper lip width has reduced, and the upper-lower ratio reads in proportion from the side. Dissolve work in profile cases calls for looking at both views during planning — what shows on profile may not show from the front. The lip border returns first; volume decisions come after the anatomy has settled.
